II INVITATION II
Hare Krishna
Please
accept this heartfelt invitation to participate in the next Bhagavad Gita
discussion program as per the following details.
Topic: Relevance of Bhagavad Gita today?<=
/span>
The Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between God and H=
is
dear devotee, Arjuna, 5000 years ago, in the mi=
ddle
of a vast battlefield, just before a very huge war was about to commence in
which millions of warriors would get killed.
It began with Arjuna's mi=
nd
reeling with despondency, dilemma and confusion about his duty and ended wi=
th
resolution of all his doubts and his mind clear, convinced, committed and
surrendered about his duty.
Just so what is the relevance of that conversation to=
day,
fast forward 5000 years. How can that conversation provide solutions to the
problems of the society today, both at individual and collective level? Are=
the
problems the society is facing today different from those the society had 5=
000
years back?
Is anyone having doubts or questions about what his
expected duty is in this human lifetime? Is there a battlefield today? Wher=
e is
it? Is there a war today? How and where is it happening?=
span>
To the mind eager to explore the ancient wisdom and i=
ts
application for solutions to difficulties (that seem to be contemporary), t=
his
presentation will be like a ripe mango fruit for the hungry soul.=
