Hi, like others suggested, avoid going on long weekends. It will be really costly and over crowded. If you have more than 1 driver then I will suggest you to drive from Bloomington to Niagara. If only one driver then - a. Take bus from bloomington to chicago b. Book flight from Chicago to new york/new jersey/boston c. Take bus from there which will $15 or $25 one way trip to Niagara. Note : if you r driving to niagara, avoid stops in Detroit. Its worst city in the USA.

just to warn you, there are a lot of new desi drivers driving on route to Niagara Falls during long weekends (labor day or memorial day). These people often cause accidents and a lot of chaos is caused. Plan your trip accordingly. There should be a direct flight from Chicago to Buffalo (South West), at a cheaper price. Good Luck

I have visited Niagra Falls last Sep (labor day weekend). I have driven there by car. Bloominton - Cleveland, OH (1 night stay) - Niagra Falls (1 night stay)- back to Cleaveland, OH (1 night stay) - back to bloomington. Some lessons: 1) Try to avoid going on a long weekend/holiday - it is over crowded, and hotel rates are too high if planning to stay. 2) 1 day is enough to visit falls and vicinity. 3) City around the falls and Buffalo, New York is really disappointing 4)There are many Indian restaurants around the falls, but they all suck (at least the ones I visited, refer TripAdvisor) 5) I wish I would have gone to the Canada side of the falls. Just my experience , others might differ.
