A massive protest walk of 240 Miles - Dandi March II
is being organized to protest against corruption in India. This march
and subsequent movement aspires to provide a unified platform for all
the Indians in India and abroad to fight against corruption.
Significance of 240 Miles: On March 12th, 1930, Mahatma Gandhi launched Dandi March and walked 240 miles (390 kilometers) to fight for Indian Independence. Now, on the same day, we are launching Dandi March II to fight against corruption.
As part of the current protest march, we are walking 240 miles in California, USA, from March 12th to 26th, 2011. The march starts at San Diego, proceeds to Los Angeles and culminates in San Francisco in USA.
People for Lok Satta volunteers Jawahar Kambhampati and Srihari Atluri
will be walking the entire 240 miles while scores of individuals and
members of various organizations will be joining them to walk different
stretches across different towns and cities along the way in California,
USA.
Also, in support of this movement, several Indians are walking in their cities across the world on March 26th.
